  • CMS Sends Aid to Those Affected by Hurricane Harvey

    In the wake of the destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey over the past 10 days the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletics Department wants to help. Headed up by Equipment Manager Brian Smith, the Stags and Athenas are sending 400 pieces of apparel to those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

    On a hot and steamy Sunday morning, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team took the pitch against the University of Puget Sound in their second match of the opening weekend. The Loggers scored a goal in each half en route to a 2-0 victory over the Athenas.

  • Macalester Edges Stags In Season Opener

    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s soccer team suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Macalester on Friday evening. The Stags fell into an early 1-0 in the opening 10 minutes of the season, but found an equalizer late in the first half off the head of Justin Gadalla (HMC). Matthew Swift (CMC) collected an assist on the goal that Gadalla headed past the keeper from 10 yards out.

    CLAREMONT, Calif. – The No. 7 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's volleyball team went 1-1 in the first day of the Pacific Coast Classic, cruising through a dominating 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-15) victory over Brockport (0-2) in the Pacific Coast Classic before falling to No. 17 Millikin 3-1 (27-25, 25-16, 23-25, 25-18).

  • Men's soccer opens the 2017 campaign next week

    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's soccer team is one week away from kicking off the 2017 season against Macalester College on the road next Friday. The Stags open the new year with a two-match road trip to Minnesota with games against Macalester College on Sept. 1 (5:30 p.m. PDT) and No. 3 St. Thomas on Sunday (10:00 a.m. PDT) before returning home to start SCIAC play.
  • Ayers named Assistant AD for Administration and Compliance

    Earlier this week, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletics Department named Nikki Ayers Assistant Athletics Director for Administration and Compliance. The newly created position comes in the wake of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) awarding the department the NCAA Strategic Alliance Matching Grant.
  • Women's soccer ready to kick off the 2017 season

    CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team is just over a week away from opening the 2017 season. The Athenas will jump right into the fire with a match against the No. 3 University of Chicago next Friday at 5:00 p.m. on Pritzlaff Field to open the season. CMS will complete their opening weekend with a match against University of Puget Sound on Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m.
  • CMS thanks Betsy Hipple for 12 years as softball coach

    Betsy Hipple is stepping away from the softball program at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps after 12 years as the head coach of the Athenas. Hipple will be missed not only for her passion and tenacity on the diamond but her empowerment of strong women leaders throughout the CMS community.

    Over the next week the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) will release their Preseason Coaches Polls. Each team’s preseason rankings were determined through a poll filled out by the respective head coaches in the conference.

    Matthew Fenton, formerly the sports information director (SID) at Cairn University (Pa.), has been selected as the next Claremont-Mudd-Scripps SID. Fenton started with CMS on Aug. 8.
