Five Stags Earn All Conference Honors

The Stags wrap up the successful 2009 campaign with five players earning All-SCIAC honors as selected by the SCIAC coaches. The defense was led by its two senior captains, Dan Picciotto (Tigard, OR [pictured middle]) and Brock Olson (Lake Oswego, OR [pictured right]), both First Team selections. Picciotto led the team in tackles with 60, tackles for loss with 12, and sacks with 5.5. He also had an interception, a blocked kick, and a fumble recovery. Olson led the team in interceptions with four, only one behind the conference leader. He was also second on the team in tackles with 54. He also had 2.5 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery. Rory Baird's dominance of the first half of conference play was evident as he was selected to the Second Team as a defensive lineman, despite missing the last few games with a knee injury.
The offense was led by its senior captain, DJ Lillard (Phoenix, AZ [pictured left]). Lillard was a First Team selection at running back. He was second in the conference in rushing with 751 yards and averaged 97.3 yards a game in all-purpose yards. Offensive lineman Matt Pautler earned Second Team honors as he anchored the left side all year long. Congratulations to all the honorees and the rest of the 2009 Stags for successful season!
