Stags and Athenas Both Down Leos

The men's and women's soccer team both beat La Verne on Saturday. The women won at home 2-0 while the men won at La Verne 2-1. The women improved to 7-6-1 overall and 4-3 in SCIAC while the men are 5-6-1 overall and 4-4-1 in SCIAC.

Nicole Sady-Kennedy (FR, Ladera Ranch) scored 30 minutes into the game for the game winner. Brittney Watson (SO, Sammamish, WA) added an insurance goal with 30 minutes remaining. Hillary Tribbs (SO, Lake Bluff, IL) made five saves and recorded her first career shutout.

Max Lipset (SR, St. Paul, MN) gave the Stags a 1-0 lead 34 minutes into the game, but the Leopards were able to counter less than eight minutes later. The Stags hit the game-winner with 53 seconds remaining when Kevin Festini (SO, Fremont) converted a Griffin Halpern (JR, San Diego) pass for his first goal of the season.

Both team play Whittier on Wednesday, October 18. The men will play at home at 4:00 while the women will play at Whittier at 7:00.
