Lillard, Olson Earn Academic All-District Honors

D.J. Lillard (JR, Phoenix, AZ [left]) and Brock Olson (JR, Lake Oswego, OR [right]) were both voted to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District team which was released today.  Both players were on the First Team in the College Division of District VIII which automatically qualifies them for the Academic All-American ballot [voting begins next week]. Lillard was one of two running backs on the team and Olson one of four defensive backs.

Lillard is an Biology/Economics dual major at Claremont McKenna College and was named Second Team All-SCIAC in 2007. He is the team's leading rusher with 500 yards and four touchdowns.  Olson is an Government/Psychology dual major at Claremont McKenna. He leads the SCIAC in interceptions with six and is CMS' third leading tackler.

Both players easily qualifed for the award. Nominees must have better than a 3.30 cumulative GPA and must be at least a sophomore. The award is voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and is presented by ESPN The Magazine.
