John Ausman joined the Stags Football Staff as running backs coach in the spring of 2012 and takes over as quarterbacks coach in spring 2013. For the previous three years Ausman coached at the University of La Verne, his alma mater. While at La Verne he coached defensive backs and linebackers.

A graduate of La Verne, he played wide receiver during his career and was a two-year starter.  He earned a spot on the All-Academic Team his senior year.  He graduated in 2009 with a degree in social science, cum laude.

Ausman is currently enrolled in La Verne's Teaching Credential Program and will receive his Master's in Education and Credential in May.

Born and raised in Asotin, Washington, Ausman graduated from Asotin High School in 2005.
