Lee Finishes Eighth At NCAA Championships
Tain Lee (FR, San Juan Capistrano) shot 142 (-2) for his final 36 holes to finish tied for eighth at the Division III Men's Golf Championships in Port St. Lucie, FL. His 72 hole total was 293 (+5). Lee birdied his final two holes on Thursday to make the cut for weekend play and was tied for 57th heading into the final 36 holes.
Lee had the second best freshman score in the tournament and was one of only three underclassmen to finish in the top 10. After a bogey on the seventh hole on Thursday (25th hole overall), Lee stood at +7. In the final 47 holes over two and half days, he was two-under par and had the second best total on the final 36 (behind only the tournament medalist).
At the conclusion of the tournament, Lee was named a Ping Division III First Team All-American and to the Division III All-Freshman Team. Lee is CMS' sixth golf All-American and first since 2002. He is the only CMS player to earn the honors prior to his junior year.
