Stags Finish Tied For Sixth At Collegiate Invitational

The men's golf team finished tied for sixth at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational over the weekend with a three round total of 880.  In the field of 30 teams, the Stags finished behind four Division III schools that finished in the top 16 at the NCAA Championships last year and one NAIA school.  CMS beat six NCAA Championship participants from last year including four that finished in the top seven, one of which is the defending NCAA Champion.

Tain Lee led the Stags by finishing seventh overall.  He shot rounds of 68, 71 and 75 (214).  He was one of of only 12 players in the 150-man field to record a round in the 60's as was his teammate Phillip North (76-69-78=223).  Brad Shigezawa (77-71-72=220), Jordan Stein (74-76-76=226) and Matt Biggar (82-79-75=236) also competed for CMS.  The team shot 287 in the second round which equalled the low score for the round.

The Stags will be back on the course Thurssday-Friday, March 22-23 at the Cal Poly Challenge at Cypress Ridge Golf Course.
