After winning both the Embry-Riddle Invitational and the Firestone Grill Cal Poly Invitational during its fall season which concluded Tuesday, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's golf team moved up to No. 1 in the latest Golfstat NCAA Division III rankings.

Over the last two weeks, CMS has moved up from No. 5 in the preseason rankings by virute of the two wins. This is the first time in school history that CMS has been ranked No. 1 in men's golf. The last CMS team of any kind to be ranked No. 1 was the 2013 men's tennis team.

In addition to CMS, three other Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) teams (No. 5 La Verne, No. 11 Redlands and No. 13 Cal Lutheran) are ranked in the top-15 nationally.

CMS begins its 2014 regular season on Monday, Feb. 10 at the SCIAC Preview.
