Stags Lead After Day One Of SCIAC Championships
CMS has a big lead after the first day of the SCIAC Swimming & Diving Championships. CMS has 324 points, 103.5 points more than second place. CMS won both relays, finished one-two in the 50 freestyle and built up points with their depth including three-four-five finishes in both the 500 freestyle and the 200 individual medley.
SCIAC Champions included the 200 freestyle relay team of Andrew Cosentino (FR, Greenwich, CT), Scott Sanford (SO, Newport Beach), John Sloat (JR, Lafayette) and Ryan Kristensen (FR, Saugus), the 400 medley relay team of Nick Ostreim (FR, Phoenix, AZ), Brian Li (FR, Hong Kong, China), Tyler Owens (SR, Camarillo) and Kristensen along with Cosentino [pictured right] in the 50 free. Second place finishers for the Stags included Kristensen [pictured left] in the 50 free and Eric Moorhead (SR, Atlanta, GA) in 1 meter diving.
The Championships continue today with finals in the 200 medley and 800 freestyle relays, the 100 butterfly, breaststroke and backstroke and the 200 freestyle along with 1 meter diving.
