Stags Drop Tough One to Redlands at Home

The CMS Stags Tennis Team lost a tough battle to Redlands on Friday, in a match where the final score was not indicative of how close these two teams are. The Stags won the doubles point in dramatic fashion by posting wins at the #1 and #3 positions. William Ellison and Evan Feldhausen returned to their #1 form with an 8-5 win. Eric Chow and Jason Evans won for the 16th time this year at number three doubles. Unfortunately, the Stags were unable to capitalize on the momentum from the doubles, as they lost the opening set at five of six positions. By the end of the afternoon, the Stags lost three-set battles at #1, #2, and #5, and were on the losing end of three tie-breaks, two of which were decisive. The Stags play a double-header tomorrow, taking on Caltech on the road in the morning, and Chapman at CMS in the afternoon. The Stags are 4-2 and in third place in the SCIAC, and are 11-12 overall. Thanks to all of our terrific fans - students, parents, and friends - for your enthusiastic support at today's match.
