Stags #4 in Pre-Season Rankings

CMS Men's Tennis is ranked #4 nationally among Division III teams according to the the fall 2007 pre-season poll. Despite only losing to one Div III team - NCAA Champions UC Santa Cruz - in 2007, the Stags enter the polls behind #1 UCSC, #2 Emory University and #3 Middlebury College.

In the individual singles rankings, Stag Mikey Lim (SO - Honolulu, HI) is #4 nationally after winning the ITA West Regional and finishing fourth at the ITA Small College Nationals in October. Junior Lawrence Wang (Orange, CA) was the only other Stag to earn a pre-season national singles ranking at #17. In doubles, Wang and Ben Hough (SR - Spokane, WA) earned a #5 national ranking based on their ITA West Regional title and a fifth place finish at Small College Nationals. Lim, Wang, and Hough have all earned All-American honors for their Regional titles and participation in Small College Nationals.

In the West Region pre-season rankings, CMS is #2 behind UC Santa Cruz. Lim, Wang, and Hough are all ranked in singles, at #1, #5, and #14 respectively. In doubles, Hough and Wang are #1, while West Regional finalists Kirthi Narasimhan (SR - Sugar Land, TX) and Drew Sabater (JR - Claremont, CA) as well as regional semifinalists Eric MacColl (SO - Greenbrae, CA) and Ronald Wu (FR - Los Altos, CA) are both ranked #8.
