Sophomore Mikey Lim (CMC - Honolulu, HI [pictured]) and Senior Ben Hough (CMC - Spokane, WA) and Junior Lawrence Wang (CMC - Orange, CA) won the singles and doubles titles respectively at the Wilson / ITA Division III West Regionals that concluded Monday at CMS' Marks and Smith Courts. All three student-athletes advance to the ITA Small College Nationals, October 11-14 in Mobile, AL, where they will compete against the seven other regional winners for a shot at the ITA Division III National Championship. As regional champions, all three also earn All-American honors for the 2007-2008 season.
It will be the first appearance for Lim and Hough at the ITA Small College Nationals, and Wang's second. Wang was regional and national doubles champion with partner Guillaume Schils in 2005.
This weekend's performance by Lim, Hough and Wang marks the second consecutive year that the Stags have swept the singles and doubles at the ITA West Regionals, and their third consecutive trip to the Small College Nationals. In 2006, the Stags' Mike Starr, and William Ellison and David Oehm won the won the ITA Regional and National Championship in singles and doubles respectively.
