Stags Again Among the Nation’s Best in Fall Rankings

The Stags are #5 nationally and #2 in the West Region in the Division III Campbell / ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings released November 10. CMS also had six (6) players earning regional and / or national rankings based on another strong fall season.

The team's #5 national ranking marks the fourth consecutive year that the Stags have earned a top five spot in the fall rankings. CMS has also earned year-end top five finishes in each of the past four seasons, and has been #1 or #2 in the west during each of those years.

Individually, sophomore Robbie Erani (New York, NY) earned a #3 national ranking and was #1 in the west, after winning the ITA West Regional singles title and then placing third at the ITA Small College Nationals. Senior captain Mikey Lim (Honolulu, HI) ranks #8 in the west after his semifinal showing at the ITA West Regional. Sophomore Victor Chien (Diamond Bar, CA) and freshman Alex Johnson (Thousand Oaks, CA) also earned west region rankings at #24 and #25 respectively.

In doubles, Erani and partner Ronald Wu (Los Altos, CA) earned a #5 ranking in the west after reaching the final of the ITA West Regional. Lim and partner Thomas Keiffer (La Jolla, CA) earned a #7 ranking based on their semifinal showing at the ITA West Regional.

The Stags begin their spring season with the Ducey Cup Alumni Match on January 23, and then open SCIAC play against Caltech on February 13. Both matches will be at CMS' Biszantz Family Tennis Center.
