CMS Defeats #16 Redlands 8-1

CMS Stags Tennis improved its conference record to 5-0 with an 8-1 victory over 16th ranked Redlands on Saturday. Sophomore Alex Lane (Claremont, CA[pictured]) earned wins at #1 singles and #2 doubles and the Stags were impressive in recording their fifth straight doubles sweep against one of the best doubles teams in the country. 

Up 3-0 after the doubles, Senior captain Ronald Wu (Los Altos, CA) got CMS its first singles win with his straight set effort at #5. Sophomore Alex Johnson (Thousand Oaks, CA) came from behind in both sets to get a two set win at #3 singles, providing the fifth and clinching point for the Stags.

CMS is now 21-3 overall and plays at Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday, April 16 at 6:00 PM.
