Asst. Coach Mark Canner was born in Greenwich, CT where he was a varsity athlete in water polo, swimming, and baseball. He was named to the All-East Coast team in water polo, won four state championships in swimming (99,00,01,02), and has the all-time ERA record for baseball.
Mark went on to graduate from Whittier College with a major in kinesiology and an emphasis in physical therapy. He also played two sports in college, water polo and baseball in which he was the captain of both teams. In 2004 the Whittier College men's team won their first league championship and Div. III National Championship.
Mark has been a coach for 12 years starting in Greenwich, CT where he coached the FCSl Div.1 champion Innis Arden water polo and swim team. In Greenwich, Mark also helped run the junior Olympic program for ages 12, 14, and 16. He then went on to coach at Foothill water polo club in Claremont for their 12 and 18 and under teams.
