The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) today announced their top ten All-Academic Teams for the 2010-11 academic year in all collegiate divisions and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps was the sixth best team in NCAA Division III. The Athenas had a 3.512 team GPA for 2010-11.
The NFCA Academic Awards program honors both collegiate and high school teams for their submitted GPAs for the 2010-2011 academic year. As a second component of the program, all submitted student-athletes who achieved a 3.50 GPA during last academic year are named as a NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete. The individual honorees will be announced on Wednesday, October 5 on NFCA.org and ten of eighteen student-athletes on the 2010-11 CMS will be among the honorees.
CMS, SCIAC Co-Champions in 2010 and 2011, are the only conference champions among the top eight academic teams in Division III.
