CMS Softball will convene the first Athena Softball Reunion Weekend in the twenty-two year history of the program. Many prominent Athenas will return to action for a battle against the 2011-2012 team, including Kristine Zoch who holds 11 of 14 single season and career pitching records in CMS Softball history and Kirstin Wilson, a 4 Year First Team All-SCIAC award winner.
CMS Softball boasts five SCIAC Championships in its twenty-two year existence. The first of the five came in the inaugural year of the program's tenure, 1990-1991 behind the pitching of Shina Thavanthana's 20 win performance. During the 1997-2000 Zoch era, the Athenas notched two more titles in 1997 and 1999. This comes as no surprise given the numbers Kristine put up, including a staggering .68 ERA during the 1999 season and 593 strike outs during her four years in the circle.
Back-to-back Championships in the last two years are numbers four and five in just over two decades for the Athenas. Many of the alumni in attendance were integral to building the more recent championship era performance and earning the 2010 and 2011 titles. Michelle Harvey returns as an All Region performer three of her four years of play, the single season and career hits record holder and the single season stolen base record holder. Jessica Vaughn, another First Team All SCIAC performer, returns to campus having started every single game of her four year career except one.
