Life at CMC: Economics and Math Major

On Court: Prior to coming to CMS played #1 singles at St. Stephen's Episcopal before transferring to the Tennis Academy as a Junior...as a freshman was a perfect 8-0 in singles, playing at every position except #4...went 6-0 in doubles with four different partners...as a sophomore saw very limited match play action due to back injury...played ITA West Regionals in singles and doubles...posted a 1-2 singles record and 2-2 doubles record...this season spent the fall of 2007 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Personal: Class President at St. Stephen's Episcopal for two years...comes from a family deep with artistic talent...grandfather Paul Fontaine was an artist, showing his work in Germany and Mexico...father Phil plays keyboards professionally... nine year-old brother plays the drums...Russell plays bass guitar and is cutting a second CD with his band in Austin over winter break...also interested in all things outdoors: deer hunting, bass fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and skiing...participated in CMC Wilderness Orientation Adventure prior to fall semester, and hopes to lead a WOA expedition in future years...after CMC, Russell hopes to work for a couple of years then get an MBA at Stanford University and then work in venture capital or investment banking...confirmed Presbyterian...values honesty and good character...personal creed: 'Life is precious and shouldn't be wasted.'
