Stags Win 16th Straight SCIAC Title

The men's track & field team overcame a 19-point first day deficit to win their 16th consecutive SCIAC Championship at Whittier on Monday. The Stags scored 173 points to runner-up Redlands' 157. CMS was the only team to score points in all 19 events. 23 different individuals scored for the team with four firsts, five seconds, nine thirds, seven fourths, three fifths and five sixths.

CMS had four SCIAC Champions: Jeff Clark (SO, Los Altos) in the high jump, Warren Brown-Pounds (FR, Bow, WA) in the pole vault, Ryan Martin (JR, Redondo Beach) in the 400 meters and the 4 x 100 relay team of Martin, Kevin Williams (JR, Oakland), Noah Goldberg (SO, Seattle, WA) and Matt Ezer (SO, Honolulu, HI). Martin also won the 400 in 2006.

Second place finishers (Second Team All-SCIAC) included Alex Auerbach (SR, Orinda) in the 800 meters, Dan Hayman (SR, Marysville, WA) in the 5000 meters, Chris Reina (SR, Escondido) in the 110 and 400 hurdles and the 4 x 400 relay team of Auerbach, Ezer, Victor Camacho (SR, Rocky Mount, NC) and Jon Neumann (SR, Sartell, MN).
