Clark and Diaz Named SCIAC Athletes of the Week

Jeff Clark (SO, Los Altos) and Breanne Diaz (SR, King City) have been selected SCIAC Athletes of the Week for the week of April 9-15. Both athletes won two individual events at the SCIAC Multi-Dual meet to lead the men's and women's track & field teams to 7-0 records.

Clark won the long jump on his last attempt with a personal best jump of 22-5.25, won the high jump with a personal best of 6-6 and finished second in the triple jump on his last attempt with a personal best of 46-5.5. In the long jump he beat the SCIAC leader by 4 inches. He is the SCIAC leader in the high jump and he won the event by 4 inches. In the triple he finished behind the national leader, qualified for NCAA's and is currently ranked eighth nationally.

Diaz won the 100 hurdles in 15.39 and the 400 hurdles in 64.72. Both times are season bests and SCIAC leading marks. She ran third on both the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays. The 4 x 1 ran 48.56, won by over a second and a half and qualified for NCAA's. The 4 x 4 ran 3:56.84, the fastest time by a SCIAC team in five years. She also placed third in the 100 with a season best of 12.76.
