Four Players Earn All-SCIAC Honors
Four basketball players were recently named to the All-SCIAC Teams. Mani Maceira (JR, Cotati) and Lana Young were named First Team All-SCIAC and Jocelyn Woolsey (SO, Piedmont) and Cameron Hanson (FR, Rockville, MD) were named Second Team All-SCIAC. Maceira was a First Team selection in 2006 while all three women earned conference honors for the first time.
Maceira finished second in the SCIAC in scoring (20.6/g) and finished second on the team in rebounding (5.3/g) and steals (1.2/g). He led the team in field goals, three-pointers and free throws made. Young finished in the top nine in the SCIAC in scoring (3 - 14.6/g), field goal percentage (4 - 49.6), free throw percentage (8 - 74.2), assists (9 - 2.6/g) and steals (9 - 1.7/g). She led the team in field goals and free throws made. She made more free throws (92) than all but one player in the conference attempted.
Woolsey was second on the team in scoring (9.6/g), rebounding (6.0/g), assists (2.2/g) and field goal percentage (46.8). She led the team and finished second in the SCIAC in free throw percentage (88.2). Hanson led the team in rebounding (8.4/g, fourth in SCIAC), was second in blocks (10) and steals (13) and third in field goal percentage (46.5). She was one of only three freshmen among the 26 players selected on the men's and women's teams.
