RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – Sophomore Shaina Raskin shot a 4-over, 76 to finish in first and the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's golf team finished ahead of Occidental to secure a tri-match win on Friday at Empire Lakes Golf Course.

Raskin finished five shots ahead of Kristin Oberiano, the field's second place finisher from Occidental who scored a 9-over, 81 on the par 72 course. Freshman Melody Sue tied for third in the 10-person field with a score of 82.

Junior Elizabeth Diebel (83), sophomore Marissa Suehiro (84) and freshman Caroline Belmont (85) rounded out the golfers for CMS.

Friday's match had not originally been on the schedule but was added as a result of the second round of the first SCIAC tournament being cancelled in February.

The Athenas now have nearly two weeks off from competition to fine-tune their game before the SCIAC Championships which run from April 27-29 at Oak Valley Golf Course.
