2013-14 CMS Athletics Highlight Video
The 2013-14 school year saw 12 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps teams win SCIAC championships and 12 teams make NCAA postseason appearances in their respective sport. Watch a few highlights from the record-breaking year for CMS Athletics.

2013-14 a record year for CMS Athletics on conference and national levels
Over the years, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletics has won 27 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) All-Sports Trophies and has been ranked in the upper echelon of Division III programs in the annual Directors’ Cup Standings.

Fall sports land 42 CMS student-athletes on SCIAC All-Academic Teams
The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) released its final six (football was released in March) 2013 fall sports All-Academic Teams and 42 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps student-athletes made their respective sports’ All-Academic Team.

Women’s soccer lands five on NSCAA Scholar All-West Region Team
With five players selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) 2013 Scholar All-West Region Team, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team landed more players on the team than any other program from the NCAA Division III ranks.

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) released its 2013 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Women's All-West Region teams and two Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer players were selected.

NSCAA recognizes Athenas with Team Academic Award
For the third-straight season, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team has been recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for its Team Academic Awards, this time for the 2012-13 academic year.

Hardin-Simmons tops CMS 2-0 in NCAA Championships first round match
Hardin-Simmons scored a goal in each half to top the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's soccer team 2-0 in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championships on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Rolland Stadium.

CMS Athlete of the Week (11/4 - 11/10): Lauren Allen - Women's Soccer
After scoring the game-winning goal for the women's soccer team in a 1-0 match against Cal Lu on Nov. 9 in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament, senior Lauren Allen is this week's CMS Athlete of the Week. The Athenas take on Hardin-Simmons on Saturday night at Cal Lutheran in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.

Four Athenas named to All-SCIAC Soccer Team; Rosenberg Newcomer of the Year
After winning the SCIAC Tournament title, four Claremont-Mudd-Scripps players were named to the Women's Soccer All-SCIAC teams, the conference announced Nov. 12 including three on the Second Team and the Newcomer of the Year.

CMS to face Hardin-Simmons in NCAA first round matchup Saturday at Cal Lu
– For the fifth time in program history, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team is heading to the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship. The NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Committee on Monday, Nov. 11 announced the field of 64 teams for the Division III Championships and CMS is in after earning the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) automatic bid by winning the SCIAC Postseason Tournament over the weekend.

SCIAC Champs; CMS edges Cal Lu 1-0 for automatic NCAA postseason berth
Cal Lutheran entered the SCIAC Postseason Tournament as the top seed with just two conference losses. None of that mattered on Saturday night in the conference tournament championship match as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team defeated top-seeded Cal Lutheran 1-0 at Rolland Stadium to earn the SCIAC’s automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Championships. It is the Athenas’ first trip to the NCAA Championships and first SCIAC Postseason Tournament championship since 2009.

Ullman’s goal lifts CMS over Pomona-Pitzer in SCIAC semifinals
Senior midfielder Shaundra Ullman could not have picked a better time to score her first goal of the season. Ullman scored the game-winning goal for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team in a 1-0 win over No. 2 seed Pomona-Pitzer in the semifinals of the SCIAC Postseason Women’s Soccer Tournament at Pomona-Pitzer’s soccer field on Wednesday afternoon.

Women’s soccer to face Pomona-Pitzer in SCIAC Tournament semifinal
The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team closed out its regular season over the weekend with a 2-1 win at Whittier. With the win, CMS improved to 8-8-3 overall in the regular season and 7-5-2 in SCIAC and secured the No. 3 seed in the SCIAC Postseason Women’s Soccer Tournament which begins Thursday, Nov. 7.

CMS shuts out Redlands on Senior Day
The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team beat Redlands 1-0 at a Saturday matinee on Pritzlaff Field. The Athenas advanced into fourth place in SCIAC after today’s win over the Bulldogs. Satuday’s game also marked Senior Day for five current Athenas and recognition of team members from the ’87 and ’88 SCIAC Champions returning for the Alumni game tomorrow.

Comeback bid falls short for Athenas against Sagehens
Down by two scores late in the second half, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team’s comeback fell short as Pomona-Pitzer held on for a 2-1 win on Saturday afternoon at Pomona-Pitzer’s soccer field. The loss dropped CMS to 5-7-3 overall and 4-4-2 in SCIAC play which puts them in fourth place.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team beat La Verne 2-1 on Wednesday night under the lights. The Athenas scored their two goals within seconds of each other and held onto their lead through the rest of the game.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team lost to Chapman 2-1 in today’s SCIAC contest. The Athenas scored early in the game but gave up two goals in the second half.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team beat Whittier College 1-0 under the lights on Wednesday night. Both teams slipped and slid their way through the game but the Athenas had more control of the ball and came out on top.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team lost to Pomona-Pitzer 2-1 on Wednesday evening at Pritzlaff Field. The Athenas tied up the game late in the second half to force an overtime period but could not pull out the win.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team lost to UC Santa Cruz 1-0 on Friday afternoon. The lone goal of the game was scored in the first half for the Banana Slugs.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team beat St. Olaf College 2-1 in a Sunday matinee at Pritzlaff Field. All three goals scored in the game occurred in the first ten minutes of the second half.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team tied Trinity University (TX) with the score of 1-1 in double overtime on Friday night at Pritzlaff Field. The Athenas took on the 6th ranked Tigers in an exciting game under the lights with both teams scoring in the second half.

Three Second Half Goals Lead Concordia To A 3-1 Win Over Athenas In Home Opener
The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team lost to Concordia (CA) on Sunday night in the team’s season-opener at Pritzlaff Field. The Athenas led 1-0 at half time but were unable to stop the Eagles from scoring three goals in the second half for a final score of 3-1.
