KANSAS CITY, Kan. – With five players selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) 2013 Scholar All-West Region Team, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's soccer team landed more players on the team than any other program from the NCAA Division III ranks. No other Division III team placed more than three players on the 2013 Scholar All-West Region Team.
Senior midfielder Shaundra Ullman earned first team honors. In addition to Ullman, senior goalie Hannah Dunham, junior defender Samantha Kunz, senior midfielder Lauren Allen and senior forward Kerry Moller all were selected to the second team.
In 2013, the Athenas had a 10-9-3 record which led to a SCIAC Postseason Tournament championship and a NCAA Division III postseason appearance. Both the SCIAC Tournament championship and NCAA appearance were the program's first since 2009.
Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Kan., the National Soccer Coaches Association of America has grown into the world's largest soccer coaches' organization that serves members at every level of the game. The NSCAA recognizes outstanding athletic achievements of its student-athletes on a weekly and annual basis.
