Athenas Finish 14th at NCAA's

The women's swimming team finished tied for 14th at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships this weekend. CMS and Whitworth College each scored 69 points. This was the fourth time in the past six years CMS has finished in the top 15 at the NCAA Championships.

Lisal Smith (SR, Davis) and Danielle Peebles (SO, La Mesa) both earned Honorable Mention All-American honors by finishing between ninth and 16th as did all five CMS relays. Smith finished ninth in the 400 individual medley and 13th in the 200 IM. Peebles was 15th in the 1650 freestyle. CMS' 800 freestyle relay [Jordan Stewart (SO, Minnetonka, MN), Monica Brazelton (FR, Santa Clara), Peebles and Lauren Kristensen (SR, Saugus)] had the top relay finish at 10th. The 400 freestyle relay [Brazelton, Peebles, Kevyn Klein (JR, Northridge), Kristensen] was 11th, the 200 medley [Smith, Kristensen, Klein, Brazelton] and 200 freestyle [Brazelton, Smith, Klein, Kristensen] relays both finished 12th and the 400 medley relay [Smith, Kristensen, Klein, Peebles] finished 13th.
