CMS advanced five divers in nine events to the SCIAC Diving Finals during the preliminary rounds which were contested this past weekend at Pomona-Pitzer.
The Athenas advanced both Carmen Lundell (pictured) and Kelly Chang on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. Each set personal records in 1-meter and 3-meter diving and secured spots on CMS's Top 10 list. Senior Teija Mortvedt also scored in the consolation finals on each board.
For the Stags, senior Garrett Smith and sophomore Andrew Fevery advanced on both 1-meter and 3-meter boards. Sophomore Drake Escrofani advanced on 3-meter. Brandon Brown and Christophe Bindert scored points for the Stags within the top 16 on both boards.
SCIAC diving finals will be February 20 and 21 at Belmont Plaza in Long Beach. Competition begins at 1:30 p.m. each day, in between the swimming preliminaries and finals.
