Second seeded Kristin Lim (SO. - Honolulu, HI) finished out a remarkable season by winning the NCAA Division III Singles Title with a convincing 6-1, 6-3 win over number 3 seed Kendra Higgins from the University of Chicago. This is the first NCAA Division III Singles Title in Athenas' tennis history.  The title match, played at Pomona-Pitzer's Pauley Tennis Complex, capped a tournament where Lim did not lose a set in five matches.  The sophomore from Honolulu, HI beat Julia Browne (Tufts) 6-1, 6-3 in the semifinals, Victoria Aiello (Middlebury) 6-3, 6-1 in the quarterfinals, Jordan Wylie (Emory) 6-2, 6-3 in the second round and Kathryn Schmidt (Carleton) 6-4, 6-2 in the first round.

Lim ended her first year at CMS with a 34-3 singles record and also won the ITA Small College Nationals in October.  Her only loss this year to a Division III opponent was when she had to retire with an injury while leading 6-2, 4-4.

Lim also had a successful run in the Division III Doubles tournament with partner Crystal Lim (FR. - Orange, CA).  The pair won their first round match against Sam Frank/Megan Gaard (Gustavus Adolphus) 6-2, 6-2 and beat Shelci Bowman/Julia Browne (Tufts) 6-7 (3), 6-2, 6-4 in the quarterfinals before losing to the eventual champions Jordan Brewer/Gabby Devlin (Amherst) 6-3, 6-4 in the semifinals.  Lim and Lim completed their season with a 31-3 record.
