Volleyball Falls To Top Ranked Regals

CMS Volleyball (17-9, 7-4 SCIAC) fell to the Cal Lutheran Regals (23-3, 12-0 SCIAC) on Tuesday evening in four sets (23-25, 25-23, 22-25, 19-25) in a close, well fought battle. 

CLU currently sits at the top of the SCIAC and proved to be a tough component.  The Athenas played well and put up a good fight with the first three sets only having a three-point differential.  In the second set, which the Athenas won, CMS hit .314.

The Athenas' attack was led by Kendra Huff (SR, Downey), who had a team high of 21 kills, and Megan Levonian (SO, Santa Cruz), who recorded a .389 hitting percentage.

Shalynn Ho (So, Mililani, HI) [pictured] led the CMS defense with 29 digs – a match high.  Huff also recorded 16 digs.

Currently in third place in SCIAC, the Athenas will next play the fourth play Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens (16-10, 6-5 SCIAC) in an important game on Friday, October 29th at Pomona at 7:30 PM.  CMS won 3-1 in their previous matchup.
