    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's volleyball team wrapped up their trip to Atlanta on Saturday morning with a match against Division II, Lee University. Despite a pair of extremely close sets, the Lady Flames swept the Athenas 3-0 (25-22, 25-13, 25-23).

    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s volleyball team opened SCIAC play on Saturday evening with a dominating 3-0 (25-7, 25-15,25-13) sweep over CalTech. Melanie Moore (CMC) paced the offense with 11 kills in the match, while Jessica Lee (CMC) dished out 27 assist and Megan Dymerski (HMC) compiled 15 digs in the comfortable victory.

    The No. 8 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s volleyball team traveled to Atlanta, Ga. for the East-West Challenge against a pair of top-10 foes. In the afternoon match, the Athenas swept the No. 6 Juniata Eagles 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-20). In the evening session, CMS squared off with the No. 4 Emory Eagles, but dropped a hard-fought battle with Emory 3-1 (25-21, 19-25, 25-19, 27-25).

    Playing in the 10th annual Cal Lu Fornia Invitational, the No. 9 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s volleyball team split a pair of matches. The Athenas mounted a furious comeback against Pacific Lutheran to win their first match of the day in five sets (3-2, 15-25, 25-19, 20-25, 25-22, 16-14). In the nightcap, the Athenas fell in a squeaker to No. 10 Trinity (TX) 3-1 (13-25, 25-23, 28-26, 28-26) in their second match against a top-10 opponent in as many weeks.

    The Cal Lutheran Regals won the SCIAC Volleyball Tournament Final 3-0 over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (25-23, 25-19, 25-16). In the three set match, the Regals had just seven errors and recorded 23 block assists while the Athenas had 60 digs.

CMS enters the tournament on the heels of earning the program’s fourth SCIAC regular season championship, tying with No. 1 seeded Cal Lutheran at a 14-2 record in conference play. The Regals host No. 4 seed Pomona-Pitzer in the other semifinal match.
