Athenas Polo Off To Strong Start In SCIAC

The women's water polo team is off to a 3-0 start in SCIAC play after last night's 8-7 double-overtime win over Redlands.  The Athenas started the season 0-9 due to a tough non-conference schedule which included eight Division I opponents, but the team has won five straight and six of their last seven game.

CMS began their season turnaround with a 13-9 overtime win against Siena College on March 19.  Down by four goals entering the fourth quarter, the Athenas outscored the Saints 8-0 in the fourth and the two overtime periods.  Since that game CMS has won four straight at Axelrood Pool including all three SCIAC contests.   The team has finished strong in all three of those contests as well outscoring their opponents 10-3 in the fourth quarter and overtime.

Abigayle Lin (SO, Honolulu, HI) is the team's leading scorer in SCIAC play with eight goals while Abigail Woodruff (FR, Davis) has been dominant in the net with 30 saves.
