Seniors Play Final Home Game, Lose to Redlands
CLAREMONT, CA -- The CMS Athenas (10-13, 3-2 SCIAC) lost a tough game against the Redlands Bulldogs on Saturday April 17th.
Abigayle Lin (SR, Honolulu, HI) brought the pressure early by
scoring the first goal one and a half minutes into the first
quarter. From there on out, it was a goal by goal game, with
neither team being up by more than two goals. At half time the
Bulldogs were up four to three. With a few key steals by field
players and some great saves by Abigail Woodruff( JR, Davis, CA),
the Athenas played a very impressive third quarter, going into the
fourth quarter tied at five. The Bulldogs scored with only two
minutes left, allowing them to win the game 6-5. The other Athena
goals were scored by Kristyn Ross (SR, Woodland Hills, CA) and
Danielle Welch (SR, Mercer Island, WA)
CMS and Redlands are now tied for fourth place for the SCIAC
tournament, and just one game back from first. The Athenas next
game will be against California Lutheran University on Wednesday
April 21 in Thousand Oaks, CA.
