Cross Country Teams Achieve Program Milestone

After the release of this week's United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Rankings, the men's and women's cross country teams are both ranked in the top 10 at the same time for the first time in program history.  The women are ranked fourth and the men are ranked tenth.

The Stags moved up 11 spots from last week after winning the Pre-National Invitational last weekend.  CMS beat #13 Augustana, #23 Wabash, #24 Johns Hopkins and #33 Loras.  The Athenas moved up two spots despite losing to #2 Johns Hopkins at the Pre-Nationals as they beat #12 St. Olaf, #23 Trinity, #31 Illinois Wesleyan, #33 St. Thomas and #35 Emory plus Olivet Nazarene, the third ranked team in the NAIA.

Both teams return to action this Friday at La Mirada Park in La Mirada.  They will compete in the SCIAC Multi-Dual meet with the men running at 4:30 and the women running at 5:15.
