CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team wrapped up their opening weekend with a Sunday matinee against the Whitman Blues on Arce Field. The Blues scored in six different innings en route to a 19-6 victory. The Stags were held scoreless until the sixth inning when they plated four runs, but a six-run inning from the Blues in the eighth put the game away.
Whitman started their scoring in the second inning with three runs crossing the dish. The Blues added two more in both the third and fourth, before putting up a five-spot in the fifth to take a 12-0 lead.
When CMS came to bat in the bottom of the sixth the Blues held a 13-0 advantage, but the Stags put together a four-run frame to make it a 13-4 game.
