Stags Host Poets In SCIAC Tournament Final

CMS will host Whittier in the 2012 SCIAC Men's Soccer Tournament Final on Saturday, November 3 at 12:00 pm on Pritzlaff Field.  Admission is $5 for all guests 12 years and over.  Students/Faculty/Staff with CMS or Whittier College ID's are free.

CMS and Whittier have met twice this season with both teams winning at home.  CMS won 3-1 on September 29 and Whittier won 2-1 on October 24.

David Taylor leads CMS in goals (13) and assists (7).  Harrison Doyle is second in goals (10) and is tied with Jared Bernstein and Ethan Hallberg for second in assists with five.  Daniel Roberts has recorded two shutouts in goal and has a 1.11 GAA.

Srdan Jovanovic leads Whittier in goals with 15 and is second in assists with five.  Brian Russell leads in assists with seven.  Lucas Depinna is second in goals with eight.  David Diaz has one shutout and a 2.34 GAA.

The winner of Saturday's game will earn the SCIAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.  The Stags have won the last three tournament titles and this will be their fifth appearance in the final.  This will be the Poet's inaugural appearance in the tournament final.
