On Court: Member of Mercer Island HS team where he played #2 singles as a freshman and sophomore and #1 singles junior and senior year...captained team his senior year...led team to two state championships in four years...was finalist in state doubles tournament...represented the Pacific Northwest section twice in Boys 16 Zonals, once in Waco, TX, once in Salt Lake City, UT...consistently ranked in the singles top 10 of the USTA PNW a freshman made debut for Stags as one of two freshmen from the Pacific Northwest...played ITA West Regional doubles with Ernie Hayhurst, winning two of three matches...appeared in two dual matches at #3 and #5 singles, losing only one game in four sets...partnered Hayhurst at #2 doubles to earn lone dusl match win in March...finished first year with a 2-0 record in singles and a 3-1 record in doubles...this season played ITA West Regionals, going 3-2 in singles (with wins over starters for from Cal Lutheran, Redlands, and UC Santa Cruz) and 0-1 in doubles (with Johnson).
