Stags Blank Whittier 9-0

Victor Chien (Jr. - Diamond Bar, CA [pictured]) was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at #6 singles, as CMS won it's second SCIAC dual match of the season on Friday at home against Whittier. Chien earned his fourth dual match win of the spring and the Stags did not drop a set in singles play.

Senior Captain Ronald Wu (Los Altos, CA) continued his current hot streak, winning 6-0, 6-1 at #3 singles. Wu has lost only one game in his last two singles matches. Wu and partner Zhenya Pereverzin (Fr. - Clackamas, OR) also won again at #1 doubles, their second consecutive 9-7 victory at the top position.

Today's match was originally scheduled for a 2:00 PM start, but was postponed until 4:30 PM to accommodate Whittier's arrival just after noon at LAX. Whittier had been playing in Florida on their spring break and their flight was delayed by a day due to inclement weather.

CMS improves to 17-3 overall and 2-0 in SCIAC, and face Cal Lutheran in Thousand Oaks at 10:00 AM on Saturday.
