CMC Alum William Ellison ('07) begins the second year of his second stint as a member of the CMS Stags Tennis coaching staff. Having helped lead the 2008 CMS team to a 3rd place NCAA team finish, Ellison in 2009 joined the staff at the Junior Tennis Champions Center in College Park, Maryland - a USTA Regional Training Center. At JTCC, Ellison served as a coach and program manager, with responsibilities in community outreach, public relations, and as a tournament director.

Beginning in 2012, Ellison joined USTA Southern California and the Farmer's Classic ATP World Tour tournament staff, where he was  responsible for marketing, communication, and sponsor services. In March of 2013 he took on the role of Event Director for the successful debut of the LA Tennis Challenge, featuring Novak Djokovic, James Blake, Tommy Haas, and the Bryan brothers.

Ellison was CMS team captain for two of his four year playing career with the Stags. During that time, Ellison was an ITA All-American in singles and doubles, 2006 ITA National Doubles Champion, ITA Scholar-Athlete, 2006 SCIAC Athlete of the Year, and a three time selection for 1st Team All-SCIAC. Ellison is also among the top five in CMS history in doubles matches played and doubles matches won. He and partner Evan Feldhausen stand second all-time in matches played and matches won as a team.

In 2014, Ellison was recognized as the ITA Division III National and West Region Assistant Coach of Year for his contributions in leading the Stags to back-to-back NCAA Team Championship finals appearances.
