Deer, Rossman, and Tilton Earn All-SCIAC Honors

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. - On Thursday morning, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the 2017 men's water polo All-SCIAC teams. Among those honored were a trio of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps athletes. Senior Noah Deer (CMC) and sophomore Zack Rossman (CMC) earned First Team accolades, while senior Peter Tilton (CMC) was honored with a Second Team nod.

For Deer this is his second-straight All-SCIAC award. During his junior season, Deer was named First Team as well. The accolade comes at the end of a strong senior season for the Honolulu, Hawaii native. Deer leads the team with 57 goals on the season and ranks seventh in the SCIAC. He has also added three assists for a total of 60 points on the year. Deer also leads the team with an impressive .460 shooting percentage (among players with at least 20 shots).

Deer's most impressive game came in Gary Troyer Tournament, when he single-handedly carried the offense against Johns Hopkins with a nine-goal game.

Zack Rossman's First Team honor is the first in his career. Rossman stepped up in his senior season and was an offensive and defense leader for the Stags in the pool. Rossman scored 55 goals on the season to finish second on the team in goals scored and eighth in the SCIAC. Rossman also tied for the team lead in assists with 18. Defensively, Rossman also tied for the team-lead with 35 steals. He also claimed 30 of his 43 sprints in the regular season.

Peter Tilton garnered his first All-Conference nod with a Second Team award this season. Tilton finished the season with 20 goals to tie for third on the squad. He also added 18 assists to tie for the team lead with Rossman. On the year, Tilton collected 19 steals to finish in the top-five on the Stags.
