Coach Lopez’ accomplishments at CMS place her among the best players in program history.  During her four years, she helped the Athenas reach four NCAA Championship tournaments and capture SCIAC Championships in 2010 and 2011.  In 2012, she led the Athenas to their first SCIAC Tournament Championship.  She was awarded SCIAC All-Conference and NCAA All-Region honors her sophomore, junior and senior years.

Capturing every student-athlete’s dream, Coach Lopez improved her play every year in the program, saving the best for last.  Her senior year, she led SCIAC hitters with a conference batting average of .521 (40 points ahead of the next competitor) and an overall batting average of .388 (the best of her four seasons).

In recognition of her extraordinary 2012 season, Coach Lopez was named the Claremont McKenna College Female Athlete of the Year, a prestigious award given to the one athlete from eleven women’s sports who has achieved at the highest level.

Coach Lopez’ recent Athena softball background will provide her with keen insight into the player experience and the ebb-and-flow of a collegiate softball season.
