CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's basketball team beat the Caltech Beavers 88-39 on Saturday night in Ducey Gym. The Athenas played a strong game and delivered ten three point buckets.

After pulling ahead early in the first half, the players coming off the Athenas' bench showcased their talent and fervor and captured the win.

By half time the Athenas already had a 48-22 lead on the Beavers.  In the second half, CMS did not let up and scored another 40 points to finish with a season-high of 88 points in the game.

It was a big night for the non-starting seniors. Sarah King came in and scored 11 points and made all three of her three point basket attempts. Cameron Ruby was perfect from the field going 3-3 including two of her own three pointers. Shelby Barthold checked in and played a fierce point guard and added three points and Chloe Dobbert was a formidable presence playing excellent defense.

Freshman Kris Brackmann also contributed 12 points, the second highest scoring night for her in the season.

Kristin Anderson for Caltech had six rebounds on the night and scored over a third of her team's total points with 14.

The Athenas are now 6-1 in SCIAC in a three-way tie for first place with Redlands and Chapman. CMS travels to Redlands next Saturday at 7:00 pm to take on the Bulldogs and battle for first place outright.
