CLAREMONT, Calif. – A pair of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's soccer players in junior M Shaundra Ullman (CMC) and senior F Madi Shove (Scripps) have been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-West Region team.
Ullman has been named second team All-West Region in a season which she set the table for the Athenas' offense with a team-high nine assists and added three goals. The junior from Portland, Ore. started 18 of 19 games and had two game-winning goals on her way to a first team All-SCIAC selection.
Shove earned third team All-West Region after leading the team in goals (11) and also had two game-winning goals this season while adding two assists. The Portola Valley, Calif. native started all 19 games for the Athenas in 2012 while also earning first team All-SCIAC honors.
This season the Athenas finished in third place in the SCIAC with an 11-7-1 overall record, 9-5 in SCIAC play.
Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Kan., the NSCAA is the world's largest soccer coaches association that serves members at each level of soccer coaching. The NSCAA and its members recognize student-athletes at all levels with yearly awards such as All-Region, All-America and Scholar All-America. The NSCAA's awards program honors roughly 10,000 athletes annually. In addition, the NSCAA also administers national high school and college rankings programs.
