CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's soccer team beat Occidental 2-1 in overtime on Saturday evening.  The Athenas scored the winning goal only 2 minutes into OT.

After a scoreless first half, freshman M Makella Brems broke the tie to put the Athenas on the board.  She scored in the 53rd minute and was assisted by senior F Kerry Moller.

It looked like that was going to be the only goal of the game but Occidental's Kylie Takafuji managed to get a shot past senior keeper Hannah Dunham to tie the game with only a minute remaining in regulation time.

The Athenas took the momentum back and controlled the ball for the entirety of the one minute and 36 seconds of overtime before scoring to end the game. Brems scored again and celebrated with her teammates in their overtime win. These two goals are Brems' first collegiate goals.

CMS improved their record to 3-5-3 (2-2-2 in SCIAC).

The Athenas host Whitter on Wednesday (10/09) at 7 pm.
