Athenas Hold Commanding Lead After Two Days At SCIAC Championships

The nine-time defending champion Athenas hold a commanding lead after the second of three days at the SCIAC Swimming & Diving Championships.  CMS has 750 points, 329 points ahead of second place Redlands.  The Athenas have won six of the 14 events contested.

Michele Kee has won two individual events and anchored three winning relays.  She won the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Butterfly and anchored the winning 200 Free Relay, 400 Medley Relay and 800 Free Relay.  The 200 Free Relay of Helen Liu, Emma Jones, Katie Bilotti and Kee just missed the CMS and SCIAC record with a time of 1:35.05.  The 400 Medley Relay was Elsa Cheng, Jones, Bilotti and Kee, the 800 Free Relay was Jones, Ellie Smith, Maddie Crawford and Kee and the 200 Medley Relay, which also won, was Cheng, Ching Tung, Bilotti and Liu.

CMS finished second in seven of the 10 individual events completed including Liu in the 50 Free and 100 Fly, Carmen Lundell in 1 and 3 Meter Diving, Jones in the 100 Breast, Bilotti in the 100 Back and LilyBelle Deer in the 500 Free.

NCAA 'B' qualifying times were achieved by all four relays, by Kee in the 200 IM and 100 Fly, by Liu in the 100 Fly and Bilotti in the 100 Back.
