Women’s Tennis and alumnae celebrate long tradition

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's tennis team gathered at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center for the annual Gerry Lahanas CMS Women's Tennis Alumnae Classic on Saturday afternoon. It was an enjoyable event for the players and coaches as current and past Athenas were able to step onto the court together for a couple exhibition matches.

The current members of the tennis team and the alumnae were mixed together for a doubles exhibition. Head Coach David Schwarz wanted to give his current team the opportunity to interact with the alumnae and experience the long tradition of Athenas Tennis.

"It was fantastic to see our athletes play alongside the alumnae and experience the great tradition of Athena tennis," Coach Schwarz said. "The current Athenas were excited to be a part of the proud history of this program as we head into our season."

Alumnae in attendance:

Susan Drinkward Waymire (Scripps '07)

Allison Laygo (CMC '07)

Crystal Lim (CMC '14)

Kristin Lim (CMC '13)
