  • Hall of Fame Class of 2018 Inducted at CMS

    Four new members were inducted into the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletics Alumni Association Hall of Fame at the 2018 Hall of Fame Banquet and induction ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 10. The ceremony was held at Claremont McKenna College's Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum, marking the 28th Hall of Fame induction class at CMS.
  • CMS has another record year in the Directors’ Cup standings

    Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletics is ranked third in the 2017-18 Division III Learfield Directors’ Cup standings, the program’s highest finish ever. This is the second-straight year that CMS has finished in the top-5 in the country.
  • CMS Claims 10th-Straight SCIAC All-Sports Trophy

    For the 10th-straight year and 30th time in program history, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletic Department claimed the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s Combined All-Sports Trophy. The Athenas earned 94 points this season and won the All-Sports Trophy on the women’s side by a 19-point margin, claiming their eighth-straight and 23rd overall. The Stags finished third in the standings on the men’s side with 65.5 points. Pomona-Pitzer won the men’s All-Sports Trophy.
  • McKillop Finishes Runner-Up, Athenas 12th at Nationals

    Bryn McKillop (SC) capped off a tremendous senior season with a Runner-Up finish in the National Championships on a wet and windy Saturday morning in Eslah, Ill. McKillop helped lead the Athenas to a 12th-place finish (402 team points) in the 32-team field. The 12th-place team finish marks the seventh-straight season that the Athenas have finished in the top-15 in the country.
  • Stags and Athenas Race in National Championships Tomorrow
    November 17, 2017
    Just outside of St. Louis, in Elsah, Ill. the men’s and women’s cross country teams will race in the NCAA Championships at the North Farm Facility on Saturday morning. The women’s team enters the National Championship as the fifth-ranked team in the country and an automatic qualifier from the West Region after claiming the regional title last weekend by 51 points over the second-place team.
  • McKillop Named West Region Athlete of the Year

    On Tuesday, U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) named Bryn McKillop the NCAA Division III West Regional Athlete of the year, an award given based off of a vote by member coaches in the region. McKillop took home the award after winning the West Regional Championships over the weekend with a time of 21:07.6, an 18-second improvement for her on the course.
  • Best in the West! Athenas, McKillop Claim Regional Titles

    The No. 6 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s cross country team won their first NCAA West Regional Title since 2013 with a victory at the Regional on Saturday morning. The Athenas finished with 58 team points, 51 points ahead of the second-place Whitworth Pirates (109 points). Bryn McKillop (SC) dominated the field to claim the individual title with a time of 21:07.51. McKillop finished over 20 second ahead of second-place finisher Lauren Hamilton from Pomona-Pitzer (21:28.09).
  • CMS Ready for Saturday's NCAA West Regional

    On Saturday morning, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps cross country teams will make the short walk across the street to Pomona-Pitzer to race in the NCAA West Regional. The Athenas enter the race ranked as the top team in the region and sixth team in the country while the Stags stand third in the region and 27th nationally. The women’s race will begin at 9:00 a.m. while the men will start at 10:00 a.m.
  • McKillop and Coaching Staff Headline All-SCIAC Honors

    On Thursday afternoon the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the All-Conference teams for women’s cross country. Bryn McKillop (SC) was named the SCIAC Athlete of the Year to lead nine Athenas on All-Conference teams. In addition to the nine runners honored, John Goldhammer and the Athenas’ coaching staff was named the Coaching Staff of the Year in the SCIAC.
  • Depth Carries Athenas to Eighth-Straight SCIAC Title, McKillop First
    October 28, 2017
    Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's cross country placed five runners in the top ten and 12 in the top 24 to claim their eighth-straight SCIAC Championship on Saturday morning. Running at Prado Park in Chino, the Athenas ran away from the field, scoring 30 team points, topping second-place Occidental (80 points) by 50 points. Bryn McKillop (SC) continued her impressive senior season by winning the individual title in a time of 22:36.55 in the 6K race.
  • CMS Ready to Roll at SCIAC Championships
    October 27, 2017
    Tomorrow morning, the Stags and Athenas begin the postseason with the SCIAC Championships on Saturday morning at Prado Regional Park in Chino, Calif. The morning will kick off with the men getting underway at 9:00 a.m. The women’s race will follow at 9:45 a.m. The Athenas head into the postseason ranked No. 5 in the country while the Stags check-in at No. 25 in Division III.
  • Athenas Dominate Field at Pomona-Pitzer Invite
    October 14, 2017
    The No. 7 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s cross country team cruised to a victory in the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational with six of the top 12 finishers and a total of 33 team points. For the fifth time this season, Bryn McKillop (SC) took the top spot in a race. On Satruday morning, McKillop finished the 6K race in a time of 21:24.99 to finish more than 16 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
  • SCIAC Dual Meet ends in Sweep for Athenas

    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s cross country team brought out the brooms as the Athenas swept through the SCIAC Dual Meet 7-0. Despite the high number of slopes at La Mirada Regional Park, the Athenas managed to see four runners in the top-10 and seven in the top-15.
  • Athenas See Three in Top-10, Winning Coyote Challenge

    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's cross country team conquered the trails at Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday morning, taking first place as a team in the Coyote Challenge.
  • Athenas Impress Against Strong Field at UC Riverside
    September 16, 2017
    Early Saturday morning the Athenas’ cross country team ran in the UC Riverside Invitational. Thirteen non-Division I institutions competed and of those 13 teams, the Athenas finished the race in fifth-place with a team score of 131.
  • Athenas Hustle to First-Place Finish at Biola
    September 09, 2017
    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s cross country team hit the road on Saturday morning to race in the Biola Invitational. The Athenas cruised to a comfortable victory over the 11 teams in attendance. CMS finished with four of the seven fastest times including a first-place finish from Bryn McKillop (SC) in 17:48.61. McKillop was over seven seconds faster than the second place finisher in the race.
  • First Years Impress for Athenas at Nationball Classic

    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s cross country team started the 2017 season by heading up to Santa Barbara to run in the 2017 Nationball Classic hosted by Westmont College.

    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s and women’s cross country teams will open the 2017 season this weekend when they travel to the Nationball Classic on Saturday.
