Aubrey Zimmerling is a senior at CMC, where she is a Government Studies major. She comes from the beautiful town of Lakewood, Colorado, where the trails wind past mountain lakes and aspen forests. She shares that running has taught her the value of trust, perseverance, and patience. All three were put to test once when, long ago, Aubrey went for a run in the mountains about an hour away from home. Upon returning to her car, she realized she’d locked her keys, phone, and food in the car. She sat alone for ages in the parking lot before a mountain biker appeared, took pity on her, and rode into town to convince a sheriff to open up her car. Aubrey loves to run the trails of Claremont, in particularly Live Oak canyon. Her best running moment was placing 4th with the team at Nationals last fall.
