Marnie Hogue comes from a place where moss grows on the sidewalks and the air is spiced with balsam fir: Mercer Island, Washington. She attended Mercer Island High School. Her favorite place to run is Emerald Bay at Lake Tahoe, where the “the views are wide and the lake is crystal clear, and I hear the pitter pat of my friends running around me.” Marnie also enjoys runs that involve sprinklers and popsicles at the end. She’s been logging miles since 8th grade, and has come to appreciate the way running enables her and her team to surpass goals never thought possible. Because running makes her feel free, it’s unsurprising that her spirit animal is a winged horse. A senior at Scripps with a math major, Marnie is a strong team leader with a knack for baking amazing granola.
